What can I search

Library Catalogues and Article Databases

TAL Online lets you search several major Alberta library catalogues to find books, videos, and other materials. You can search just one library catalogue or many catalogues all at once.

TAL Online lets you search more than library catalogues. It also offers you an easy way to search article databases, many of which contain the complete article text online. What a great way to do research for a paper, prepare your next business presentation or just read up on your favourite interest or hobby!

Library Catalogues

TAL Online lets you search the catalogues of public, post-secondary, and special libraries in Alberta.

You may not see the name of your local library listed. Don't worry! Many libraries have joined together to produce a system-wide catalogue.

To ensure your library is included when you search, choose "All Alberta Libraries" from the drop-down list on the Library Catalogue Search page.

Article Databases

TAL Online also allows you to search for articles from licensed and publicly available databases.

Many public library users have access to General Reference Center -- an excellent source of current articles on many topics. Post-secondary library users may find databases such as Expanded Academic Index or Business ASAP.

Your choices depend on which databases your library has licensed and made available via TAL Online.
